Our Story

Our History

GLIDE traces its roots to the Countryside Innovations Network (CIN), a social enterprise founded in 2008 with the goal of empowering communities through innovative and sustainable development initiatives.

Recognizing the growing need for practical skills, technical training, and industry-driven education, CIN established GLIDE as an Industrial Training and Research Institute. Since its inception, GLIDE has evolved into a center for vocational training, innovation, research, and entrepreneurship development.

Over the years, GLIDE has expanded its programs to include diploma, certificate, occupational, and short courses that prepare learners for employment, self-employment, and business development. The institute continues to contribute to national development by producing skilled professionals, innovators, and community leaders capable of addressing contemporary challenges.

GLIDE provides wholesome skilling, training, nurturing and research for individual, group and household business development. The Programs are implemented under the Uganda Vocational Qualifications framework. Certificates are awarded by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) of the Ministry of Education and Sports.
