Science, Technology and Innovation Secretariat – Republic of Uganda

The Science, Technology and Innovation Secretariat (STI) under the Government of Uganda coordinates national efforts in science, technology, and innovation to drive research, technological advancement, and innovation-led economic development. It works closely with government, academia, and private sector institutions to ensure research outputs are translated into practical solutions that support economic growth, strengthen innovation ecosystems, and promote startups and knowledge-based development across the country.

Local Government (Uganda)

Local Government in Uganda consists of decentralized administrative structures responsible for delivering public services at district, municipal, and community levels, ensuring that national policies are implemented effectively at the grassroots. It plays a key role in education support, infrastructure development, community programs, and local economic planning, while also collaborating with institutions to promote skills development, innovation, and community empowerment.

Countryside Innovation Network

Countryside Innovation Network is an organization dedicated to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in rural and underserved communities by bridging the gap between urban innovation ecosystems and rural populations. It supports youth and community innovators in developing practical solutions in areas such as agriculture, education, and livelihoods while fostering collaboration with institutions and development partners to scale impactful ideas.

Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) – Uganda

The Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) is a government agency under Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports responsible for regulating, coordinating, and certifying industrial and vocational training to ensure alignment with national occupational standards. It promotes competency-based education and ensures that learners acquire practical, industry-relevant skills that meet labor market demands through standardized assessment and certification systems.

Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC)

The Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC) is a Ugandan research institution focused on sustainable energy solutions, specializing in renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, and clean cooking innovations. It conducts applied research, technology testing, and community outreach programs to promote affordable and sustainable energy access while collaborating with institutions and development partners to advance clean energy adoption and environmental sustainability.
